Location
This reserve is located 18 miles away from Yecora,
in the southeast part of the State of Sonora,
within the Eastern Sierra Madre Mountain range.
Access to the area is provided by neighboring
roads which are maintained in good conditions.
These roads lead from town to town going through
Santa Ana, Yécora and other towns of Mesa
El Campanero.
Altitude
Altitude increases gradually from Southwest to
Northwest. It begins at the Reparo creek with
2296 feet and reaches up to 6888 at Mesa El Campanero.

Climate
The area is composed of two climates: dry-warm
with a temperature of 76°F and in the tropical
areas the temperature is a dry heat with an average
of 62°F.
Flora
& Fauna
This is one of the most diverse regions of Sonora
The variety and diversity of vegetation and the
uneven terrain, makes possible the formation of
microclimates and a great diversity amongst plants
and animals that live in these hot and humid clime,
such as: Mauto , Bocil Root, Beetroot, Jaguar,
Elegant Trogan, Echo, Tepeguaje, Silk Cotton Tree,
Green Macaw, Magpie bird, Puma, White tailed deer,
Mountain Parrot, Imperial Woodpecker, Owls.
The variety of geography and climate makes r
many different ecosystems within the zone to be
possible.
