Yecora’s main cultivations
are corn, bean, potatoes, and perennial crops.
However, the lumber activity is a relevant economic
activity in this municipality, exploiting pine
trees and holm oak.
Cattle breeding is also developed in a surface
of 305,000 hectares in natural land.
The industrial activity occupies second place
in the municipality’s economy, generating
343 jobs that represent 28% of the occupied population.
There is a wood drawer, a plank and a broomstick
factory, as well as a mushroom canning plant,
and a jelly producer factory in Mesa del Campanero.
There is great potential in the industrial sector,
due to the fact that investors may install wood
product manufacturer plants in the region.
Yecora is supplied with water by the Mulatos
River that goes through the entire town from south
to north, and comes from Chihuahua. It also has
two permanent streams: Del Toro and La Tinaja.
