Guaymas - Festivities

Guaymas International Carnival

The most famous festivity in Guaymas is the Carnival, which has taken place in February every year since 1900, and in where people from all over the state, and even tourists from the United States assist.

The Guaymas International Carnival came up at the ends of the XIX century, in the year 1888, as an imported tradition from Italy. It is considered, by then, the most antique carnival in Mexico.

Fireworks, queen coronation, beautiful allegoric cars, constitute and important fun and colorful part of the Guaymas Carnival.

Yearly Events:

February-March - Guaymas International Carnival
March-April - Holly Week
May - Regata
June - Marine Day (in where navy base members march in their white uniforms through the city of Guaymas)
