Filibusters’ Battle
Celebration
The Filibusters’ Battle celebration takes
place from April 3rd to April 6th. In these festivities
many events such as civic parades, fireworks,
fair games, handcraft sale, concerts, as well
as folkloric and popular dances occur. This event
takes place in The Plaza Eusebio Francisco Kino
at Caborca.
Feria de la Uva (Grape Fair)
The importance of wine growing in the region
is such that it gave origin to these festivities.
It is celebrated from July 14th to 28th, and starts
with an allegoric car parade in which the presence
of the beautiful representatives of each wine
field of the region is remarkable. During the
parade these girls give grapes to the spectators.
Other attractions are the popular and folkloric
dances, fair games, and concerts. At the fair,
an industrial, agrarian, commercial, craft, and
cattle fair exposition is established.
Feria de la CANACO (Nacional Chamber
of Commerce Fair)
It takes place the third and fourth week of May.
This fair consists of an agricultural, cattle
raiser and travel agencies exposition. Fair games
are placed and musical representations are made.
Feria del Algodón (Cotton Fair)
This fair is made in early October. It starts
with allegoric car parades, however agricultural,
cattle raising, and commercial crafts expositions
are also made, as well as popular dances, artistic
representations and folkloric group presentations.
Fiesta de la Virgen de Guadalupe (Virgin
of Guadalupe Festival)
It starts one week before December 12th with
pilgrimages and “veladas” which consist
of gathering followers to pray during all the
night.
